roadways for driirs ecifically i i one of our northern counties.. a semi jacknifes on highway 218 near waverly this afternoon the driver lost control because of the road conditions kwwls oliviaamancino joins us live from the bremer sheriffs department with more deputies on the scene told me the slick highway caused this driver to lose control this happened just south of the waverly exit on 218 you can see the semi here, crews were working to pull it out of the road. deputies say the semi is very light and didn't have a lot of cargo in it so the driver lost control fairly easy. but the good thing --no one was hurt while crews were worsing to pull that truck out they did have so be advised of that and the roads,

according to wheaton franciscan healthcare -- pam is the 121st person to receive a lung transplant in iowa -- and josh is the 123rd. medical experts say their newfound bond is nono only inspiring -- but beneficial for the both of them. we've got you covered -- macleod hageman -- kwwl news. accordinig to the national heart, lung and blood institute -- the number of double- lung transplants has gone up over the years. more double-lung transpants are now done than single-lung transplants. schools aren't just giving out report cards these days - - they are also getting them. it's part of a new iowa school report card program. kwwl's jessica hartman met with one area school that brought home an a on its report card. the report card rate's each schools' performance in areas like math & reading, graduation

hudson high school scored in the top 13% of the state with a high- performamace rating. the integration of technology into the classroom by teachers - - that's one of he big factors hudson's superintntndent says led to the succesful report card. and udents aren't just taking notes. with a 3d printer - - students are designing and printing their own projects. jacobs funerrl is set for tomorrow. she would have been finishing her first semester of college this week. a missouri state trooper is now charged in the death of n iowa man who drowned in custody. trooper anthony piercy faces charges of invuntary manslaughter in the death of... 20-year-old brandon ellingson. brandon drowned in the custody of a trooper in may of 2014. ellingson as handcuffed in a police boat after being cited for being drunk. he eithhr fell or mped into the water and drowned. the trooper says he put a lifevest on ellingson--but it came off in the water. tonight is the final race for one dog track in iowa. after tonight, dog racing will come to an end in council bluffs. according to execs at horseshoe casino - the home of bluffs un -- interest in dog racing has declined over the years. they say between 50 and 100

robert stern -- the man accused of shooting his daughter to death with three different guns....wwlks into court on the phone, it said they heard something, might've possibly be someone shot." in june -- officers responded to the 2100 block of clarke drive -- found sixty-two year old stern sitting in his living room -- while his daughter...twenty- seven year old kimberly stern was dead in the back bedroom. "she was d dceased. she had a couple of bullet holes that i could see." "and some of those officers took the stand here at the dubuque county courthouse. they were questioned about stern's mental state the day of the crime and whether his miranda rights were given." his attorney'sslaim ststrn did not intelligently waive his miranda rights when he admitted to the crime. "was a form used in the process of informing mr. stern of his miranda rights?" "no." so now...they want to exlude statements he made to police. at the hearing -- investigators were also questioned abouu an audio recording of stern's
